It was 1996, I was a young first-year apprentice. My then-boss saved his pennies and invested in a state-of-the-art drain camera from a company I can no longer find, called Peerless. It was neatly constructed within a large cargo-type carry box on wheels. It consisted of a 10" old-school monitor, VHS recorder, large keyboard, and a 40mm camera head with a 60m 8mm cable reel.

I remember two of us having to wrestle this thing into position, which would surely be an OH&S liability nowadays, and then run several extension leads to power the behemoth. At the time, this was the best of the best, and my boss was well ahead of his time, foreseeing the value of making a massive investment in this technology. I recall him saying that the system was worth $28k in 1996 about $55k in today's terms.

Fast forward 27 years and many cameras later, I am proud to present the New Zealand market with some mid-cost, rugged, and highly effective drain cameras that I know can handle the rough treatment that plumbers tend to dish out.
